It may be intuitive or it may be intentional. But the 6 steps they follow are real:<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEARN-EMPOWER-ASSESS-DECIDE-EVALUATE-REVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sixth step in the leadership developmental process is REVIEW: review the progress, people and success of a project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: -0px;\">\nIt is important to pause and review. The three aspects of review mentioned above will help the team and the individual team members to improve their performance in the future.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"color: black; font-size: 15px;\"><strong>Progress<\/strong> \u2013 what has changed? Know how and what to measure to ensure the vision, the goals and the team member\u2019s contributions are on track. Re-read the <strong>DECIDE <\/strong>blog<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: black; font-size: 15px;\"><strong>People<\/strong> \u2013 who contributed? Be specific about how\u00a0and\u00a0when the individual member of the team\u00a0has contributed to the vision, the goals and the team. Re-read the <strong>EVALUATE<\/strong> blog<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: black; font-size: 15px;\"><strong>Success<\/strong> \u2013 how to celebrate? Be specific to the individual as well as being creative. Match the degree of praise to the size and nature of the accomplishment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The most important aspect of the REVIEW process is to identify ways to improve in the future. They may be tiny adjustments or large scale interventions. The idea is that over time, significant change is possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: -0px;\">\nWe have been applying the Leadership Development Process for over 15 years and in that time we constantly come across three different types of leader:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"color: black; font-size: 15px;\">Leaders who do everything themself. These leaders only ever look for helpers to do the menial work they don\u2019t want to do (technically these people are not leaders).<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: black; font-size: 15px;\">Leaders who recognise that they need others who will work with them to achieve the vision and goals but see this process from an \u2018addition\u2019 perspective. These leaders delegate responsibilities but usually find they have more and more people who are reporting back to them.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: black; font-size: 15px;\">Leaders who see their role through a \u2018multiplication\u2019 perspective. These leaders develop leaders who can stand on their own two feet as well as develop new leaders. The 6 steps (and the resources) of the Leadership Development Process were developed for these leaders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This brings our blog series, Developing Your Leadership Effectiveness, to an end. As a gesture of appreciation in next week\u2019s blog I will post an assessment for your use based on the six developmental steps we\u2019ve been discussing.
